A key player in energy transition, the EDF Group partners with Digital SDG Accelerator in search for innovative solutions to mitigate climate change and improve life quality in cities. The best projects will have a chance to visit the EIFER lab in Germany, EDF R&D subsidiary, and pilot their projects with the Group.

We invite projects with a prototype addressing one of the following topics:

● Estimation /measurement of traffic induced by mobility at the scale of a metropolis;

● Estimation /measurement of GHG emissions from energy consumption and mobility;

● Measurement and prediction of environmental conditions;

● Design and usage of energy and climate indicators to support decision-making;

● “What if?” tools for climate & energy scenario assessment.

In addition to cooperating with EDF and EIFER, participating projects might be selected into the catalogue of 100 best EAEU sustainable development technologies which will be presented at the key international events including UN COP26.

Key dates

The deadline for the application to the Acceleration programme is 31st of December 2020. More information about the application process and acceleration program available here.

About EDF

A key player in energy transition, the EDF Group is an integrated electricity company, active in all areas of the business: generation, transmission, distribution, energy supply and trading, energy services. A global leader in low-carbon energies, the Group has developed a diversified generation mix based on nuclear power, hydropower, new renewable energies and thermal energy.

Wherever EDF operates, we want to invent a new energy model to address the climate crisis: lower-carbon, more efficient, less of an impact on the environment and on people. Our raison d’être is to build a net zero energy future with electricity and innovative solutions and services, to help save the planet and drive wellbeing and economic development.

For the past two decades EDF and the European Institute For Energy Research (EIFER) have done extensive R&D to mitigate the effects of climate change and to improve the quality of life in cities. Today this research includes:

● development of the Positive Energy Blocks and Districts by increasing energy efficiency, as well as introducing decentralized energy production and storage, and smart energy management;

● solutions for smart cities and climate adaptation, which includes monitoring and optimizing air quality and temperature, energy consumption, GHG emissions etc.
